Spreading peace<\/strong> – the picture of hippies<\/strong> in the flower-power movement quickly comes up or a dove of peace<\/strong> that is sent out as a peace offer. But there are other, much more concrete ways! This week, four strong young women<\/strong> will tell you how they conceived their passion in very different ways and how they get to live it out. They all have the same goal – to campaign for peace<\/strong>! For themselves but also for other people. After reading the stories, you will surely realize that you too can start to spread peace immediately.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Spreading peace through information and enlightenment – Lorena is a press officer at the Bundeswehr<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeace begins with yourself.<\/strong> If you know how it works to create and spread\u00a0peace in your own environment, that\u2019s the first step. In the same way, it\u00a0can also be achieved on a large scale<\/strong>, for example in larger structures and\u00a0systems, such as between states. Education and enlightenment are\u00a0essential for peacekeeping.<\/strong> You can only develop understanding through\u00a0knowledge and information about other countries and cultures. Because\u00a0not everyone is wired the same way<\/strong>! So, if you can understand or\u00a0comprehend why someone is acting the way he or she does, you can\u00a0respond appropriately and avoid conflicts<\/strong>,\u201d Lorena tells us in the interview.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Student and on-off soldier – this is what a passion can look like<\/strong><\/p><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Lorena (25 years old from M\u00fcnster) studies economics and is also a\u00a0reservist for the Bundeswehr<\/strong>. This means that after completing her basic\u00a0training, she has not committed herself, but is available on a voluntary\u00a0basis as a soldier<\/strong> if necessary and is also employed as a soldier during her\u00a0semester break<\/strong>. Working as a press officer, she is addressed as a\u00a0lieutenant.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy job as a press officer is extremely diverse and I really enjoy it<\/strong>. I am\u00a0constantly in rotation, so I often change my location and the operational\u00a0area that I can accompany for press work. For example, I was even allowed\u00a0to fly with a military aircraft<\/strong>, the Transall, to accompany paratroopers at\u00a0their work. As a press officer, I get to know a lot of new people and great\u00a0projects<\/strong>, and all teams always give me the feeling of naturally being part\u00a0of the group.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
