Equally, it is important &#13;\nto me to sit together with other girls and learn from them. Do you also feel this way?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\"><strong>I am deeply interested in what kind of things the young women of our intombi &#13;\ncommunity would have loved to know earlier when they were young. I asked our &#13;\nintombi volunteers and friends: \u201cWhat would you have liked to know earlier?\u201d The &#13;\nanswers were very enriching and that is why I want to share them with you. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<br\/>\n<br\/>\n<br\/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">These are 3 things I would have loved to know earlier<\/h2>\n\n<br\/>\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:600;text-transform:capitalize\">1. You are beautiful the way you are!<\/h3>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 25%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/intombi.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/VID_20220515_1642580.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\"><strong>Isi:<\/strong> As a child, I always wanted to have my own style \u2013 <strong> short hair, colorful crazy clothes<\/strong>.And that is also what I did but not everyone liked it. Superficially I did not fit in at all. My &#13;\nfriends did not appreciate it and in school, I was often bullied and listened to dumb comments.&#13;\nI would have loved to have people telling me:<strong> &#8220;You are beautiful the way you are&#8221;.<\/strong> <br\/><br\/>Today, I have people who tell me this and to my past self, I say: <strong>Find friends, who are as groovy as you<\/strong>, with whom you feel comfortable and who say \u201cIt is cool how you dress and &#13;\nthat you do your thing!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote has-text-align-center has-pale-pink-color has-text-color has-small-font-size\" style=\"border-style:none;border-width:0px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\"><blockquote><p>\u201cOftentimes they told me that I am at fault. You brought that on yourself.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<br\/>\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:600;text-transform:capitalize\">2. Expectations of others are overrated!<\/h3>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 25%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/intombi.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Movie003.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\"><strong>Anna:<\/strong> As a child, I learned of the high expectations for girls and women in a post-Soviet society. Some of them were also passed on to me by my grandma. For example, it was communicated that it is expected of us girls to be at the top of our class, be part of a club, be obedient and help at home. On the one hand, we should be educated and mature- <strong> On the other we &#13;\nshould not be too conspicuous. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Our strengths and abilities were also underrated all the time. We girls were threatened by &#13;\ncomfort \u2013 since our initiative, decisiveness and willingness to take risks were not considered &#13;\nparticularly or were not wished for. <strong>What do I know now?<\/strong> <strong>Only I can decide what my life should look like. <\/strong> I am the queen of my life. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote has-text-align-center has-pale-pink-color has-text-color has-small-font-size\" style=\"border-style:none;border-width:0px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\"><blockquote><p>&#8220;It is expected that we are at the top of our class, part of many clubs, obedient and that we &#13;\nhelp at housekeeping.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n<br\/>\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:600;text-transform:capitalize\">3. Just let me be myself<\/h3>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 25%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/intombi.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/VID-20220520-WA0001.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\"><strong>Michelle<\/strong>: As a child, I always had the feeling that I have to fit in \u2013 I have to adapt, so I can belong. Then, I would have simply loved to know that I am good the way I am. Now, at the end of my twenties, I know this. I am allowed to be different from the norm. <br\/><br\/><strong>I do not have to adapt, belong or be the way others want me to be. <\/strong>Now, I am happy with &#13;\nwho I am, and how my body is, and I have a great group of friends. In private and at work, I can live my hobbies, passions and emotions.
