With the appropriate music from the band Pl\u00e4sier<\/strong>, which you already got to know in the first\u00a0part of this #PassionWeek, and the carnival alphabet<\/strong>, you will now learn about the passion to\u00a0dance during carnival<\/strong> and how you can be a part of it<\/strong>. But not only that! We introduce you to\u00a0a carnival princess<\/strong> and let you know about the carnival costume trends 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n.\n

Lea and her passion for the Cologne dance tradition<\/h2>\n\n

The dance belongs to carnival, like the red clown nose into a clown’s face.<\/strong> Whether a\u00a0professional guard dance, hobby hip-swinging or social swinging. The main thing is to always\u00a0stay in motion.<\/strong> And so, it goes with Lea (26 years old) from H\u00fcrth<\/strong>, who is part of a very\u00a0special Cologne dance group.<\/p>\n\n

“Carnival has fascinated me ever since I was a child. The bright colours, the creative\u00a0costumes and the celebrations together<\/strong> with the most different people have always given\u00a0me great joy. The Original Dance Group K\u00f6lsch H\u00e4nnes’chen<\/strong>, in which I dance, is<\/strong> already\u00a0visually different<\/strong> from the other dance groups in Cologne. Through the many different\u00a0costumes, which represent the Cologne originals<\/strong> from the past until today, we bring a\u00a0colourful picture on stage.<\/p>\n.\n

Everyone plays their own role with the Original Tanzgruppe K\u00f6lsch H\u00e4nnes’chen<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Every dancer who joins our group presents and interprets his or her role a little bit differently<\/strong>\u00a0and thus can become a part of oneself. This year I am going into my 6th session<\/strong> with the\u00a0Original Dance Group K\u00f6lsch H\u00e4nnes’chen and so far, no performance has been like the\u00a0other.<\/p>\n.\n

My carnival highlight 2020 with the Bl\u00e4ck F\u00f6\u00f6ss during the matinee<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

This year I was on stage during the Matinee, an artistic event of the Cologne Carnival’s\u00a0festive committee<\/strong> in honour of the 50th anniversary of Bl\u00e4ck F\u00f6\u00f6ss<\/strong>, with dancers from 15\u00a0different dance groups. Dancing in such a beautiful setting for the Bl\u00e4ck F\u00f6\u00f6s and getting\u00a0standing ovations in the philharmonic<\/strong> was already the highlight of my session this year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n.\n

Carnival involvement is a school for life<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

When you get involved in carnival, many different tasks are waiting for you and for which\u00a0you take responsibility<\/strong>. For example, planning and organizing your own events or managing\u00a0your social media account<\/strong>. Without your involvement in the carnival, you would not be\u00a0confronted with many of those tasks at all allowing you to take a look behind the scenes<\/strong>.\u00a0This insight brings you into contact with people from all professional and interest groups<\/strong>. You\u00a0can benefit from these contacts in all situations. Dancing is an absolute team sport.<\/strong> You learn\u00a0to take responsibility.<\/p>\n.\n

Dancing at the Cologne carnival is an incredibly beautiful, versatile hobby. It demands a lot of\u00a0commitment and dedication from every single dancer. But if you are willing to put in this\u00a0effort, you will have an incredibly wonderful time<\/strong> and get to meet all kinds of people. So\u00a0have the courage to join in,” Lea tells us.<\/p>\n.\n

Here you can prove your\u00a0dancing and acting talent and maybe you will soon be whirling around the stages of Cologne\u00a0together with us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n.\n

Or how about a flip at the carnival society Sr. Tollit\u00e4t Luftflotte?<\/h2>\n\n

The dance corps, i.e. the “dance group”, of the carnival society Sr. Tollit\u00e4t Luftflotte e.V.<\/strong> has\u00a0stood for the tradition of dance and the joy of carnival since 1927. In each session they\u00a0master extremely difficult and demanding (air) acrobatics<\/strong>. This high level of professionalism\u00a0has been rewarded several times in recent years with awards such as the Fool’s Oscar<\/strong>. The\u00a0dancers are called stewardesses here. For you, we have asked which requirements are\u00a0needed for the passion Luftflotte.<\/strong><\/p>\n.\n

The three most important requirements for a good stewardess at Tollit\u00e4t Luftflotte<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n
  1. \u201cThe most important thing for us is fun, which includes the fun of dancing but also the fun of training with a group of 40 people all year long with sporting ambition<\/li>
  2. one should have a beautiful authentic aura<\/li>
  3. ambition and agility (for example, for splits) \n \n…the rest we’ll teach you during the training year. \n \n\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n

    Three tips to become a stewardess in the carnival<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n
    1. don’t give up – even if the balancing act is not yet in place, with enough practice anyone can do it.<\/li>
    2. it does not hurt to have gained dancing experience before. This does not necessarily have to have been gained in carnival.<\/li>
    3. one should be ambitious and motivated to train several times a week and be active in sports.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n

      You want to be part of the air force? After carnival we start.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

      Each year on Ash Wednesday<\/strong> we have a trial training<\/strong> for the upcoming session. If you bring\u00a0along the right prerequisites, joy and motivation, nothing will stand in your way. You can find\u00a0more information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

      The passion of flying – you can do it<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n
