The location at Fühlinger See is unbelievably beautiful and there are many opportunities for other activities around it. So if you don’t feel like lying around in the sand anymore, you can rent a canoe, go stand-up paddling or leave your comfort zone in the nearby high ropes course.

By the way: In winter, the staff comes up with something very special. The Winterland is my secret tip! With a fireplace where you can make bread on sticks, the treats in the food stalls, a DIY station and lots of other really nice stations, really appealed to me last winter.”

Dream job with holiday feeling – Steffi works at Blackfoot Beach

“The best thing about my working day is the view over the beach and the lake in the early morning when there are no guests yet. But also, a great team and nice guests who make the working day go by in no time,” Steffi (25, from Cologne) tells us about her job at Blackfoot Beach. She studied sports and history to become a teacher and is also trained as an outdoor/high-ropes course instructor. Now she has been working at Blackfoot Beach as a climbing instructor since 2019.

“My job at Blackfoot Beach is very diverse: I work in the high ropes course as a climbing instructor, at the beach bar, the cash desk or also in the beach rental. In the Machbar I also learn how to do home work and take care of the plants and the lawn.

Steffi provides summer vibes and a holiday mood

I take people to dizzying heights, help them overcome their limits and forget everything around them. On the beach, we give people the opportunity to relax and enjoy a cool soda or an ice cream with their feet in the sand and you forget that you are really still in Cologne,” she says with a laugh.
